In case anyone is interested...
... in what I have to say about art, rather than the art I make, I have found myself writing more than I have in months in the comments to this post by Geoff Grogan (one of the Abstract Comics anthology contributors) one the new blog started by him and Kevin Mutch. It's about art history and comics' place within it, about modernism and postmodernism and radical critique and all that fun stuff...

Howdy, I'm posting this here as well as your other blog. You made a comment about my speech at the Saaren Kartano Vispo Workshop at Geof Huth's blog, where you said the (incomplete) list of items mentioned by Geof is "a chinese encyclopedia" and I got the sense that you thought I had equated certain freeware graphic design tools and things like Microsoft Tag with the abstact comics movement for no good reason. I just wanted to tell you (because I am a fan of your work) that I wasn't introducing these things so much as tools as instances of phenomena which might be interesting to take into account by artists working on questions of technology and culture. Also, what Geof fails to mention in his blog is that there was actually a structure to the speech where I discussed certain topics in internet culture, such as the papernet, and so on. Take out that division into topics and the general gist of my argument and the list of items does not cohere, of course! So Microsoft Tag and abstract comics were not equated in any sense during the speech. And a last thing: in actuality, I wasn't even supposed to talk about abstract comics, but it occurred to me during the speech that some people in the audience might be interested in the blog, so I showed it. So that's why it's there. It really didn't have anything to do with my other arguments, it was a digression.

...it's evident you know quite alot about comics, as i often read thru your kesken kaiken blog ...
...it's most excellent that abstract comics popped up as an "in the moment" thing & you incorporated it into your speech.
